NOW ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS!

Seaside Family Medicine is always accepting new patients! We are a direct primary care practice meaning we operate outside of the insurance model and therefore do not accept insurance. The current insurance based healthcare system is broken so to be able to provide patients with high quality, accessible health care we have chosen the direct primary care model. Gone are the days of an insurance plan dictating your care and what services they will pay for! We have two payment options: pay as you go or a monthly subscription based model. Pediatric visits will still be billed through insurance

Direct primary care provides a great option for those patients without health insurance as well as those with insurance who have a high deductible insurance plan. Healthy patients with a high deductible plan actually save money by not using their insurance.

The majority of insurance plans currently on the market have deductibles as high as $7,500 per individual per year with family deductibles up to $22,0000 for the year.

  • If you are not a new patient and have been seen in our office before through insurance you are likely wondering why we switched to our new model.

We did so because of poor insurance reimbursement rates coupled with increasing cost of labor and supplies.

We were at a crossroads and had two decisions: shorten time slots and start double booking to see higher patient volumes OR change the model to direct primary care.

  • Direct primary care takes the middle man, insurance companies, out of your healthcare. It also affords you more time with your provider.

Most direct primary care practices have a smaller patient panel meaning you have more time with your provider and easier access to appointments. This is because direct primary care removes the demand to see a high volume of patients to cover costs.

  • If you have what are called “out of network” benefits we can supply you with the information for you to submit the charges to your insurance for you to try to recoup some of your money spent. You will still have to pay Seaside upfront for your services.

  • Yes, if you have insurance you can present your insurance card when picking up your medications.

  • If you have insurance you are still able to use that to cover any special tests like mammograms, xrays and CT scans ordered by your Seaside provider.

  • For healthy patients with high deductibles direct primary care can be a major cost saver.

Say you have a $5,000 dollar deductible. That means your insurance will transfer the bills from any medical service to you until that totals $5,000.

With direct primary care, you are charged at a lower rate. Say you only get an annual check up and two sick visits, that totals less than $500 out of pocket for the year when using a direct to care model.
