Our providers are highly skilled and experienced nurse practitioners trained in both adult and pediatric medicine. They are supervised by a medical doctor who is trained and practicing in family medicine. He is available to them for consults at any time.
Joe Haines, MD **Not accepting new patients
Medical Director
Dr. Joe Haines is the Supervising Physician at Seaside Family Medicine. He is a board certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Haines received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where he also completed his family medicine residency. Dr. Haines currently practices family medicine in Beaufort, SC.
Dr. Joe Haines resides in Beaufort with his wife and two children. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Haines enjoys writing and historical research.
Donna Marie McAllister
Chief Operating Officer
Donna Marie McAllister is the Chief Operating Officer and part owner of Seaside Family Medicine. She was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Donna has over 20 years of experience managing staff in financial operations within the international banking and Medicare insurance administration sectors. During her career Donna has developed and implemented quality improvements that resulted in efficiencies, streamlined processes, and cost savings.
Donna is responsible for the daily operations at Seaside Family Medicine including financial operations, compliance, and personnel management. She is dedicated to ensuring that the best possible care for you and your family is provided and that you are treated by staff in a kind and respectful manner.
Donna lives with her husband in West Ashley and during her time away from the office she enjoys spending time with family and friends, entertaining, interior decorating, exploring Charleston, and relaxing on the beach.

Mary Klauber, PA-C is a highly trained physician assistant originally born and raised in South Carolina! She received my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Biological Science from Clemson University. Go Tigers! She then went on to receive her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia.
After PA school, she completed a Surgical Physician Assistant Residency at Duke University Hospital. After residency, she spent the following 5 years working in Medical and Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Units at Duke and UNC hospitals. She also has experience in Neurosurgery, Cardiology and Acute Pain Management.
Mary is looking forward to joining the Seaside Family Medicine team and providing high quality medical care to the members of my community!
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé, Cooper, and their spunky French Bulldog, Dolly. She loves eating at our local restaurants, going church and being outside by the beach/pool. Mary also enjoys doing competitive Ballroom dancing!
Amanda McAllister, DNP, PNP ** Accepting New Patients**
Amanda McAllister is a Doctoral prepared Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) who grew up in Boston. From an early age she knew she wanted to work in healthcare, specifically with children. She received her Bachelor's and Master's in Nursing from Regis College in Weston, MA. After finishing the program, she decided to make a change and move to beautiful Charleston, SC. Once in Charleston, she enrolled at Medical University of South Carolina and graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a 4.0 GPA.
Amanda has over eleven years of experience as a PNP with five of the years spent working in rural health. During her clinical training Amanda completed a rotation in the behavioral neurology department at Boston Children’s Hospital where she learned about the management of pediatric behavioral health conditions. She also completed a clinical rotation in the newborn nursery further increasing her knowledge of the care of infants.
Amanda lives in Mount Pleasant and enjoys playing tennis, boating, and exploring the Lowcountry. She is excited to join the medical community in the Summerville area and provide quality care.
Christina Holter, PA-C *Accepting New Patients*
Christina Holter, PA-C is a dedicated physician assistant who was born and raised in Connecticut but has lived all over while moving with her husband, a former Navy Nuke. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with minors in Political Science and Philosophy from Muhlenberg College, followed by a Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina. She later went on to earn her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from North Greenville University. Being a Physician Assistant has always been Christina’s dream.
After PA school, Christina began her career practicing in family medicine at a private practice in Greenville, SC. She is excited to join the Seaside Family Medicine team and is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to her community.
Outside of medicine, Christina loves spending time with her husband, her son, and their three doodles—Sulley, Oakley, and Yeti. As a family, they enjoy exploring new coffee shops and cheering on their favorite football team every Sunday. Go G-Men!
Katherine Saunders, DNP **Accepting New Weight Loss Patients*
Katherine Saunders, DNP-BC, FNP/PNP is a highly experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with over 32 years of dedicated service in the fields of pediatrics and family medicine. Her extensive career encompasses ambulatory pediatrics, adult medicine, and women's health, highlighting her versatility and commitment to comprehensive patient care.
Katherine's educational journey began with her undergraduate nursing degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She further specialized in Maternal Child Nursing, obtaining a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree, which allowed her to focus her practice on outpatient care for pediatric patients and infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care nursery for 16 years.
In 2009, Katherine expanded her expertise by completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner degrees at the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Since then, she has continued to serve patients across the lifespan, providing compassionate and comprehensive care.
Throughout her career, Katherine has been recognized for her excellence in patient care, receiving awards from the Governor's office and numerous local affiliates. Her dedication to her patients and her community is evident in her ongoing commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.
Outside of her professional life, Katherine enjoys shopping, gardening, and spending quality time with her friends and family. She resides in Florence with her husband, Paul, where they enjoy the hometown community and the simple pleasures of life.
